The course looks at types of organisations in the Public, Private and 3rd Sector and evaluates their role in society and the factors which influence their decision making. It then goes on to consider in more detail the 4 main functions of any organisation; Marketing, Operations, Human Resources and Finance.

The course explores the important impact businesses have on everyday life, thereby giving learners experiences which are topical. It develops skills for learning, life and work that will be of instant use in the workplace. It supports personal financial awareness through developing learners’ knowledge of financial management in a business context.

Business Management is relevant to everybody, no matter what route their life takes. We all come into contact with business on a daily basis as consumers and will ultimately join the world of work as entrepreneurs, small business owners, managers and employees. This course will enable a pupil to understand how a business operates and the activities they undertake. It will also develop employability and enterprise skills.
